How can coaching help?
Coaching gives you dedicated time and space to think differently about what's going on, to understand yourself better, and to work forwards from where you are now.
Perhaps something in your life isn't working quite the way you'd hoped. You might be at a crossroads and wondering what comes next. You may have a problem you've turned over and over without getting closer to an answer. You may already know what you need to do, and find that something keeps stopping you.
I practise transformative coaching, which goes deeper than a simple focus on objectives. Plenty of coaching is about goals and actions, and there are times when that's exactly what's needed. Transformative coaching goes after the assumptions, beliefs and habits of thought that keep producing the same problem, on the basis that when those shift, what you want and how you go after it tends to shift with them.
Over time, you might find you have a clearer sense of what you value, more confidence in your own judgement, and decisions you've chosen and can stand behind. That can happen in a single conversation; though deeper change usually needs more than one.
You don't need to arrive with a well-defined goal. Knowing there's something you'd like to understand, change or make progress on is enough. People bring things like:
- Day-to-day workplace concerns
- A change or transition in life or work
- What success and fulfilment mean to you now
- A loss of confidence or trust in your own judgement
- Patterns and assumptions that keep getting in the way
- A difficult decision, or a conversation you've been putting off
We're often less stuck than we think we are. What's hard is seeing past our own familiar ways of thinking, and past what we've long assumed to be true about ourselves. I'll listen, ask questions, notice patterns, and sometimes ask you to look at something from an angle you wouldn't have chosen. Coaching is how you get a look from the outside in to your own thinking, and use that to make change happen.
About me
I'm Miranda, a trainee Transformative Coach with Animas Centre for Coaching.
My route into coaching follows more than 20 years in international marketing and leadership, living & working across 11 countries and 3 continents. These experiences have taught me a great deal about adapting to change, understanding different perspectives and, above all, being curious about people.
I've always been fascinated by human behaviour: what makes us tick, why we behave as we do, the stories we tell ourselves and what helps us change.
This interest had a natural home in my work in marketing, which at its best is fundamentally about understanding people: their needs, motivations, behaviour and decisions. Working in leadership added another dimension: listening, navigating ambiguity, developing people, working through change and bringing different perspectives together.
Now, as a coach, my role is to work with you, offering a safe space for you to explore your challenges. I'll bring warmth, curiosity, careful listening and thoughtful questioning to help you work out what is right for yourself.
Working together
We'll start with a free 20-minute video call to talk about what you'd like to explore and whether coaching with me feels like a good fit.
Sessions are online and last 45–60 minutes. You can choose a single session or up to 3 sessions over a couple of months. I'm based in the UK and can work flexibly across time zones.
As I'm currently completing my coach training, I'm offering a limited number of practice coaching places at no cost. In return, I'll ask for your honest feedback and, if you've found the experience valuable, a testimonial that I may use.
As part of my development, I will also record our sessions for my own learning. Recordings are treated confidentially. If I'd like to share any material with my coaching supervisor, I'll always ask for your permission first.
If you've been thinking about something for a while and would value the space to look at it differently, let's talk.
